Proud to be selected to #1 most innovative finance company by FastCompany
We are very proud to announce that FiLife was selected as the most innovative finance company by FastCompany in their annual Fast Company 50 Most Innovative Companies. We were selected #27 overall, but #1 in Finance. It is exciting to get recognized for the hard work but it is really the FiLife community that should be proud they have created such a great place to get answers to your personal finance questions.
Now, get back to work helping people with their personal finance questions (and we will do the same).
Congrats to everyone.
Embed FiLife Q&A on your website or blog with Widgets
Many of the FiLife community members maintain their own websites and have promoted their involvement with FiLife. We wanted to make it easier for people to do this and to add Q&A to their websites to provide more value to their audiences.
We are very excited to announce FiLife Widgets which makes including FiLife content on your personal blog or website very easy.
Here are some example of the profile widget:
Here is the Question Widget, with this one showing questions about tax:
These are very easy to customize to match the look and feel of your website. You pick the colors and we will generate the code to cut-and-paste to your website.

3 Options for Questions: Open, Anonymous and Private
At FiLife, our goal is to connect people with questions with people with answers. To that end, we want to accommodate all types of questions and users.
We understand that when FiLifers are asking personal finance questions, they could different levels of sensitivity. There are some question you will allow everyone to see, but there are others that you are curious about but don't need people to see. To meet the needs of all these situations, we have created the ability to ask questions with three levels of privacy:
- Open: Questions are posted to the FiLife community with full attribution to the user. This is the default option.
- Anonymous: If you have a question that you don't want attributed to you, you can click the checkbox and there will be no connection to you as the person asking. The downside is that we can't contact you when there is an answer, so check back often.
- Private: If you want to have a private conversation with an expert, you can choose the private option and pay a small fee ($10) to do so. No one will see your conversation except you and the expert you choose.
We hope this continues to make it easier for people to ask their questions and get answers, regardless of the type of question. As always, let us know what you think.
Question Everything!
Over the last few months, we have worked hard to bring FiLife community members all the features they need to get help with their personal finances. What we have learned is that people have specific questions about their finances, and they want simple, honest, straightforward answers.
We heard you loud and clear, and today we launched a new version of FiLife, focusing on questions and answers. Ask your personal finance questions and get answers from the FiLife community of experts and members with first-hand experience. All of the great FiLife Guides, stories and tools are still available on the site. They are just organized around specific questions.
For example, ask a question about Social Security and get related guides, stacker polls and calculators.
We also made it easier to post questions from anywhere via Twitter. Just send a message to @AskFiLife from your Twitter account and we will notify you when you get an answer.
Take a second to ask your pressing (or not so pressing) personal finance question, and let us know what you think about the changes!

Here are the rules and press release for more information.

The FiLife community grew 100% in July!
We recently got some exciting news that we wanted to share. According to the ComScore numbers from July, the FiLife community doubled in size from June to July. That is an increase from 1.2 million to 2.5 million unique visitors during the month.
FiLife is now the 5th largest financial advice destination on the web! More details can be found in our press release.
Thank you to our great community, partners and FiLife Contributors that made this success possible. We look forward to working with everyone to get to the next milestone.
Not all comments are created equal
Over the last few months, we have seen a huge increase in comments and reviews on the site. Now, FiLife gives you the ability to not just make and respond to comments and reviews, but to rate them as well! Rating comments gives FiLife the chance to surface them more quickly, giving you and all FiLife community members quick access to the best information. We think this will make comment and reviews even more valuable.
As always, let us know what you think.
The Hottest Stock Quotes on the Internet
As part of our focus on family finance, we realize that stocks and mutual funds are an important aspect of your overall financial health. To make sure we are offering the most complete destination for family finance, we are very excited to announce the inclusion of stock, index and mutual fund quotes from our friends at MarketWatch.
In true FiLife fashion, we took a slightly different twist. We wanted to make sure it was visually stunning and socially aware. We added Twitter updates (ok, tweets) about each stock so you can see what people are saying about the company in real time.
Let us know what you think.
Hot Fresh RSS Feeds…
